We co-ordinate a wide range of activities individual to each person, taking into account their life story, past hobbies, family and community relationships and recreational interests.
We organise regular trips to local places of interest and attractions in and around the Kent coast and countryside and we encourage our residents to maintain and develop links with the local community.
We ensure that residents who have no capacity or family to support them are appointed an advocate to help them with any decisions about their lives and their care needs. We encourage our residents and family to play an active part in the day to day decisions and we hold regular resident, family and visitors meetings to ensure their wishes are taken into account and are involved in choosing any activities that they take part in.
All people who are resident at The West Gate have safe access to our well-maintained enclosed private gardens. Residents who choose to smoke will be able to access our outside, designated smoking area, monitored by staff at all times.
Birthdays, anniversaries and special occassions are celebrated and we have regular themed days where our residents party and enjoy music, social interaction and good food.
